Le Meridien Kids Can Cook

Remy, the cute cartoon keen on French Gastronomy in the famous children's movie "Ratatouille", better watches out for Le Méridien Kids! Indeed, whilst the animated character was displaying his fictitious culinary talents on a giant screen placed in the kitchen of Le Méridien St Julians this Saturday morning, an enthusiastic (and very lively) junior kitchen brigade was actively working with real ingredients, under the amused yet professional supervision of Executive Head Chef Reuben Grixti.

"We had been willing to create an entertaining and educational activity for our young guests for a while", explains Christine Tellus, Corporate & Events Manager at Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa. "To reach out to our local community and to promote creativity are key elements of our Brand philosophy. We took this opportunity to organise an event for the children of our patrons and the invitation was very well received!"

15 children between 4 and 9 years old were hosted as guests of honour this Saturday morning in Le Méridien's kitchen. Appropriately dressed with proper chef's hats, aprons and themed T-shirts (printed out for the occasion), the little cooks spent a couple of hours under the wing of the hotel's chef. Together, they learned how to prepare Figolli and took some time to decorate their creations. Whilst the children were possibly discovering a vocation for a future career, parents were invited to share a nice morning coffee break in the adjacent room.

On top of the cooking experience provided to them, the kids also received a formal and personalized cooking certificate, a "thank you" gift and an individual photo taken with the hotel's chef Reuben himself. Seeing the glimmer of pride on our young cooks' portraits, we bet that they are no longer impressed by Ratatouille's cooking skills.
